Our Mission

For over 60 years, Foley, Lamy & Jefferson and our predecessors have provided exceptional legal representation of the highest ethical standard for those who have suffered physical, emotional or monetary injury through the negligence of others. We keep our clients well-informed, give them a strong voice in the legal system, and strive to restore health, happiness and financial stability to their lives.

Ours Is a Heritage of Defending Injured Workers

Foley, Lamy & Jefferson has a strong legacy of defending the working men and women of Louisiana. We also have the expertise and financial resources to take on the difficult cases that other law firms avoid. We will be here to fight for you today and tomorrow.

Our story starts in 1951, when the law firms Dodd, Hirsch, Barker, Avant & Wall and Dodd, Hirsch, Barker & Meunier began representing trade unions, labor organizations, and injured Louisianians. These firms merged into Barker, Boudreaux, Lamy, Gardner & Foley, and eventually into Barker, Boudreaux, Lamy & Foley, all the while continuing their representation of the injured and disenfranchised. Today, Foley, Lamy & Jefferson continue to carry the torch lit over 60 years ago, championing the cause of those injured through no fault of their own.

We Maintain High Standards, Strict Ethics

Under law, injured citizens and workers are entitled to compensation for “past, present, and future mental and physical pain and suffering”. Additional damages may be collected for your lost wages, future medical treatment, loss of enjoyment of life, and scarring and disfigurement.

The attorneys at FL&J and our predecessor companies have collected millions of dollars in compensation for our clients, often investing months or even years of our time in battles to see justice done. Our values are rooted in our firm’s history of fighting for the working man and woman.

We Are Tenacious Fighters for Justice

An infant misdiagnosed by doctors, leading to profound brain damage. A young man horribly burned in a barge explosion while bleeding gas off a coastal oil well. A six-year-old boy scalded by super-heated water from a malfunctioning water heater. A beautiful 13-year-old girl electrocuted due to faulty grounding in her mobile home.

The injured, if they survive, can never be made physically whole, and their families are bereft – devastated by their loss. And while no amount of money can ever fully compensate these victims and their loved ones, FL&J has guided these actual clients through the legal system and worked hard to bring about closure and hope in their lives by way of financial compensation.

Our Clients Are Our Family

Foley, Lamy & Jefferson succeeds in representing our clients by following a simple, tried and true principle – we truly care about our clients and their cases. We’ve represented the injured and mistreated in New Orleans and southern Louisiana, and beyond for over half a century. Law firms come and go, but rarely do they span six decades of fighting for clients.

What’s allowed FL&J to prosper for so long? Our tenacity and commitment to our clients’ cases, and our sincere concern for their personal well-being. We truly care.

In most personal injury cases, the Louisiana Statute of Limitations allows only one year from the date of the accident for a lawsuit to be filed.
